By using machine vision and AI-trained algorithms, the omniQ platform identifies physical objects and provides automatic action with no human intervention, resulting in 100 percent efficiency. Through its machine-to-machine solution, the company aims to reduce costs and accelerate customer service.
The company’s extensive solution portfolio enables it to meet critical needs across multiple sectors, including traffic and parking management, public safety, supply chain management and homeland security.
“Smart city is a broad term, and we are actively involved in multiple aspects of it, creating products that transform daily life for users,” says Shai Lustgarten, CEO.
This approach enables omniQ to serve a diverse clientele, including Fortune 100 and 500 enterprises, government agencies, municipalities and the military. Delivering heightened efficiencies and crafting advanced user experiences, omniQ has become a ubiquitous presence in airport parking with operations across 64 U.S. airports.
Its proprietary neural network-based algorithm allows for complete automation in parking situations. When a vehicle approaches the gate, the algorithm runs full detection and identification for all types of automobiles—from bicycles, bikes and passenger cars to long hauls and trucks. After identification, the vehicle is checked in the AI’s virtual database, processing its make and model, license plate, color and type, before performing pre-programmed automatic actions like opening or closing the gate or printing a parking ticket.
In one of its deployments, omniQ’s algorithm was used for active border control, helping the U.S. government identify all vehicles approaching the crossing point and check their information with local police, federal and other databases. Besides initiating automatic action, the algorithm alerts the security personnel, informing border patrol officers when the sensors detect a wanted vehicle and prompting immediate action. The algorithm has already helped security officers prevent felony suspects from escaping from the U.S.
OmniQ’s AI-based machine vision VRS solution, Q Shield, is an AI-based safe city system that uses patented neural network algorithms to mimic human decision-making and recognition patterns.

omniQ’s AI-powered products present municipalities with innovative solutions to problems that were considered impossible. One such deployment includes enforcing high occupancy vehicle (HOV) lane regulations and reserving traffic lanes for cars with a certain number of passengers. The firm’s algorithm, which is trained to identify even the smallest features, like having an infant in the backseat, helps municipalities effectively control HOV lanes and implement other smart city solutions.
The publicly traded omniQ, by addressing everyday needs with practical AI solutions and lucrative business models, is making smart city solutions practical and achievable for governments and municipalities without significant initial investment or extensive planning.
