In 2023, an earthquake of 7.8 magnitude shook the nation of Türkiye. Search and rescue teams raced against time, working through the rubble to save lives. Supporting their heroic efforts was a quiet force in the background—SpecOps Group Inc.’s Finder MK4.

The incident reflected the values that SpecOps embodies: combining advanced technology and field expertise to deliver mission-critical solutions.

When the news of the first earthquake broke out, SpecOps immediately dispatched multiple units of the Finder MK4. The product’s precise detection capabilities proved crucial in locating survivors trapped under debris, resulting in a deserving recognition from the Turkish government.

Over the past two decades, SpecOps has established robust international networks with support from the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Commercial Services. Its innovations enable first responders and the military to protect people and reinforce security. Through collaborations with embassies and foreign ministries, it has always been one of the first to come to the aid of regions affected by natural disasters, enabling swift and responsive actions.

“The U.S. Commercial Service has helped us out considerably by introducing us to different embassies and ministry officials,” says Adrian Garulay, co-founder and CEO.

The Finder MK4—a life sign detection system—helps first responders to quickly locate survivors and carry out rescue missions with unmatched precision. The device utilizes proprietary microwave radar to detect heartbeats from up to 200 feet away, even if they are concealed beneath rubble, behind walls or other obstacles. This allows responders to quickly locate survivors during disasters without risk.

The product has also proven invaluable in military operations, helping units identify and monitor potential threats, enhancing situational awareness and operational safety. The device is easy to operate and requires minimal setup time. Its rugged and compact design ensures that it works in any weather condition.

It incorporates a camera targeting system that seamlessly switches between optics and infrared for day and night operations. Compatible with any operating system, Finder MK4 delivers credible scan results within moments of activation. By combining military-grade durability and tactical flexibility, the device plays a vital role in providing real-time intelligence in extreme environments.

Innovation at SpecOps is a never-ending process. Its latest advancement, Cyclops ID, is equipped with ground-penetrating radar capabilities that can scan up to 30 feet below the surface, detecting objects and even human remains. The device also provides near-instant detection of human presence behind walls and through glass.

Behind its success is a team of veteran leaders that guides product development, forming the core of SpecOps’ operational model. The team’s extensive experience with battlefield realities drives effectiveness at every stage, from conceptual design to assessment and evaluation. Its skilled engineers adhere to strict quality standards, ensuring that the company continually improves its products to ensure maximum reliability.

“I’m a firm believer in hiring veterans. We have a few veterans working with us, and we’re very happy with their performance,” says Garulay.

Every product rolled out of its Sarasota facility aims to fulfill a promise—maximizing value for customers. Its responsibility does not end with making a sale. In-house trainers educate customers on how to best utilize the products.

Looking ahead, SpecOps is focused on extending its global reach and delivering its products where they are needed the most. It aims to foster meaningful partnerships and maintain strategic distributor relationships in disaster-prone areas across Europe and South America.

SpecOps is more than a tactical equipment manufacturer; it stands as a trusted partner committed to protecting human lives. Through continuous innovation and a global vision rooted in service, it is redefining what technology can achieve.
