After nearly six transformative decades with the group, Sir William Gallagher will become President of Gallagher Holdings Limited, with an ambassadorial emphasis.
FREMONT, CA: Gallagher reported that Kahl Betham has been named Chief Executive Officer of Gallagher Group, a global leader in the design and manufacture of security, animal management, and fuel systems solutions. After nearly six transformative decades with the group, Sir William Gallagher will become President of Gallagher Holdings Limited, with an ambassadorial emphasis.
In November 2018, the organization revealed that a succession planning process was underway as Sir William articulated his intention to initiate an orderly transition to leadership, allowing him gradually to step on from his day-to-day duties. To plan for this transition, Steve Tucker, Deputy CEO & Executive Director, moved to the Executive Chair of the Board, and Kahl Betham, Global Director for Security, stepped up to Steve’s Executive Management and Board role.
In his newly expanded role, Kahl will bring over two decades of Gallagher experience to lead the company’s efforts, which span the animal management, security, and fuel systems industries. He will continue to oversee the Operations, Research & Development, Information Services, People & Brand, Finance, Risk & Responsibility, and Legal functions.

Kahl joined the firm in 1997 and has held several roles, spanning engineering, market research, business analysis, product development and senior leadership roles. “It is the opportunity of a lifetime to lead the number one privately-owned tech exporter in New Zealand,” said Kahl. “I am looking forward to continuing this journey, and to further building on everything we stand for across our people, customers, and business partners.”
