The Centrisys Maintenance Contract for New York City Wastewater Treatment Plants will cover 83 existing decanter centrifuges in eight New York City wastewater treatment plant locations for maintenance and repairs
Fremont, CA: "Centrisys has built a remarkable relationship with the NYC Department of Environmental Protection as we have collaborated on significant projects together in recent years," comments Michael Kopper,Centrisys’s President and Chief Executive Officer.Centrisys Corporation, a leading North American manufacturer of a decanter and thickening centrifuges and dewatering systems, has been secured a contract by the New York City Department of Environmental Protection to maintain and repair 83 existing decanter centrifuges in eight NYC wastewater treatment facility locations. The Centrisys contract was awarded in collaboration with Jett Industries, Inc., a major general contractor specializing in water and wastewater treatment facility construction and modification.
"Aligning with Centrisys in the contract bidding process to support NYCs wastewater treatment facilities allowed us to bring all of our collaborative strengths to the table to ensure we provided recommendations that offer facility efficiencies and an innovative problem-solving approach," states Kevin Miedreich, project manager with Jett Industries, Inc. "The cooperative arrangement allows our team to lean on our in-depth knowledge of facility processes and expedite lead times."
The city of New York is responsible for 14 wastewater resource recovery facilities that handle 1.3 billion gallons of wastewater every day. Over 6,000 kilometers of sewer pipes, 135,000 sewer catch basins, 495 allowed outfalls for combined sewer overflows, and 95 wastewater pumping stations transport to wastewater resource recovery plants located throughout the five boroughs make up the treatment system. Sludge from New York City is digested and converted into biogas. The remaining solids are dewatered after digestion.
"In 2020, we announced the installation of 32 American-made CS26-4 Centrisys decanter centrifuges at NYC's largest wastewater treatment plants. We appreciate their trust in our team and look forward to further supporting NYC with our maintenance and repair expertise in the years ahead." Comments MichaelKopper, president, and chief executive officer of Centrisys.
