Enter Gothams, a cutting-edge emergency management team revolutionizing disaster control.
Gothams is transforming conventional emergency response operations with a unique operational model and the expertise to tackle a range of crises. They have a strong track record of bringing robust solutions to diverse challenges, nationwide, from the COVID-19 pandemic to natural disasters and homelessness, while adhering to high standards of speed, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
“What differentiates Gothams is the military precision and agility behind our planning, execution, and financing model that, together, is proven to strengthen and empower communities in crisis,” says Matt Michelsen, Founder, and CEO of Gothams.
Michelsen has translated his three decades in Silicon Valley founding and scaling diverse companies to assembling the elite team behind Gothams. Made up of veterans ranging from the U.S. Special Operations and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to experts in supply chain logistics and food security, medical professionals, defense technology specialists, and more, the Gothams team rapidly and resourcefully responds to communities’ complex crises with resilient solutions.
Gothams does not operate in one dimension of emergency management. Rather, the team seeks to intimately understand and then meet a community’s needs by transforming its nationwide network into local coalitions that execute a resilient response in partnership with emergency management organizations. Their approach strengthens communities and their manpower by filling gaps and meeting requirements necessary to resolve immediate and prolonged crises alike.
Their innovative and entrepreneurial approach to emergency management surges and scales the skills, resources, and capabilities needed to fill operational gaps in communities. As the self-dubbed “JSOC of Emergency Management” – a reference to the U.S. Special Operations Community many in the company hail from – Gothams applies military principles to respond to challenges calculatedly and rapidly when called upon, just as they did while in uniform.
Founding Gothams on the cusp of COVID-19, Michelsen immediately recognized in the pandemic’s emergency response operations a critical need to equip local, state, and federal entities with the additional capabilities required to ensure an immediate and sustained response. Gothams subsequently adapted to aid communities in need.
Between the winning logistics strategy that underpinned these services and the rapid construction and management of infrastructure for diagnostic testing and treatment, Gothams guaranteed economical testing and treatment options, rapidly reduced test processing time, and delivered critical medical services, including personnel and resources.
Gothams reduced the turnaround time of COVID-19 test results to 24-48 hours at a time when most were waiting 5 to 10 days, by focusing on the logistics and expediting test transportation time to laboratories – or when called upon, building them. In one state, Gothams reduced the cost of COVID-19 tests by renovating in six weeks a high-capacity laboratory equipped to support the entire state’s COVID-19 testing – and replicated this in Washington, DC. Outside of pandemic services, they constructed in 30 days a state-of-the-art, 8,000-square-foot turnkey facility for a state’s division of emergency management and in support of law enforcement requirements.
Gothams approaches emergency management as a linchpin of homeland security. Its successful ability to build comprehensive and community-specific solutions, integrate them with advanced technologies, and execute them with military precision across the nation showcase the organization’s commitment to tackling crises in a way that guarantees a lasting impact.
Presently, the company is supporting states from coast to coast in the housing challenges faced by individuals experiencing homelessness or displacement by working to design and provide transitional housing solutions and additional services to get Americans back on their feet. While tackling these long-term challenges, as the nation enters its hurricane season, Gothams proactively support states’ preparedness and response capabilities for natural disasters – they’ve already supported their home state of Texas in response to the tornadoes that hit in June.
Since Gothams’ successful response to COVID-19 operations nationwide, the company continues their mission to uncover tough challenges for communities nationwide – to aid those in need.
