BFG’s ICAM offerings were initially leveraged by the DHS and DoD over eight years ago. DHS was assisted in screening and providing secure access to data to the right people within the organization and externally, such as partners in intelligence and law enforcement communities. The team migrated the client from an on-premise solution to cloud-based, demonstrating its ability to implement enterprise-wide solutions and establish interconnectivity with other organizations.

Offering high scalability, BFG’s solution facilitated a smooth transition to a cloud-based solution, despite the multiple interdependencies involved.

“Within two years, we went from managing a couple of servers to supporting the whole organization in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan region. BFG currently assists the entire breadth of DHS and their partners as they interconnect globally to share information,” says Keith Garner, senior vice president at BFG.

While managing the solution for DHS, dirty data was detected within their network, with an individual represented multiple times, in different ways, across numerous systems.

The team realized the opportunity to develop a data analytics solution capable of performing predictive analysis while cleansing the data. The end result was a product that could identify systems containing bad data across an enterprise, clean it, and normalize the information.

Following its success with DHS, BFG implemented the same solution for the U.S. Army and assisted them with the modernization of their ICAM module. It also partnered with Microsoft on a pilot program for the Army, helping them design Identity-as-a-service solutions for their enterprise IT services program.
