September - 20196GOVERNMENT CIO OUTLOOKEDITORIALOpening New Doors to a Secure WorldThe homeland security market is radically transforming with new developments in artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, biotechnology, nanotechnology, and robotics. AI and machine learning provide new knowledge to homeland security personnel by leveraging sensors and digital data, allowing them to make more informed decisions. The security agencies are employing predictive models that enhance the identification of high-risk passengers and make real-time predictions with reasonable response time. The application of machine learning not only helps in identifying threats but also responding to them. Currently, new security innovations like the fusion of miniature RFID transponders with biochemical sensors is creating a buzz in the market. Because of their small size and versatile detection capability, these sensors can be used pervasively and inconspicuously to provide protection to the critical assets and infrastructure. Robotics is further transforming homeland security by automating the human tasks which are dangerous, difficult, or repetitive. Adding value to the homeland security are the portable unmanned aerial vehicles which can carry out missions in a highly-efficient manner. However, choosing an ideal homeland security solution from a crowded pool of vendors could be a challenging task for any decision-maker who is focused on multiple factors such as scalability, interoperability, and integration capabilities. In this edition of Govt CIO Outlook, we shed light on the most prominent vendors who offer innovative homeland security solutions. We have focused on companies that exhibit prudence and expertise in homeland security technologies, aiding clients to deliver the best of services.Let us know your thoughts!September - 03 - 2019, volume 05 - Issue 11 (ISSN 2644-2604) Published by ValleyMedia, Inc.
