December - 20196GOVERNMENT CIO OUTLOOKEDITORIALPublic Safety Measures Enabled by Tech Innovations The increasing complexities, and unpredictable challenges in the domain of public safety and security is creating a tectonic shift in the way governments, societies, and enterprises function. Demographic change, global power shifts, climate change, rapid urbanization, resource scarcity, or technological breakthroughs, whatsoever the trend may be, they all have a dramatic impact on the security and safety of the public. Public safety being the most important task facing city governments across the globe has now begun to leverage technologies to proactively detain the challenges that pose grave threat to the society. Information and Communication Technologies have always played an important role in the public safety domain. The capability of exchanging information is essential to improve the coordination of public safety officers during an emergency crisis. Wireless communications are particularly important in field operations to support the mobility of first responders. With the massive growth in the fourth industrial revolution, sensing technologies, cyber-physical systems, and analytic techniques have erased the boundaries of the physical and digital worlds, creating hyper-connectivity. Smart technologies, especially AI, are being leveraged to create newer tools for encryption and cyber security, creating a solution for identifying and measuring risk along with labor-saving information processing. Even though the latest influx of technology in public safety is disrupting its household processes, innovations have given rise to a new band of efficient, paperless processes, which boost transparency and allot more time for core public safety tasks among agencies and businesses. In this edition of Government CIO Outlook, companies and agencies focusing on public safety are given attention to voice their viewpoints via insightful articles. We believe that this edition will assist you in effectually evaluating and applying strategies that will eliminate the existing safety apprehensions as a whole.Let us know your thoughts.Decemeber - 24 - 2019, volume 05 - Issue 20 (ISSN 2644-2604) Published by ValleyMedia, Inc.
