Headquartered in Brooklyn, NY, EverGreene has offices throughout the US that work all around the country with a robust conservation division available ready when disaster hits. "We have the scale that enables us to tackle problems anywhere," extols Amy. Amy shares a story from a long-time client, the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens in Miami, Florida, which had fallen prey to hurricane Wilma. The European sculpture collection took the maximum damage. Over thirty antique columns, urns, and sculptures dating from the 2nd 19th centuries were toppled and shattered, porous stones were immersed in salt water. The Barge, a distinctive feature of the National Historic Landmark site, was partially destroyed by a twenty-foot-high storm surge. EverGreene arrived at the site and assisted in emergency clean-up and documented the losses. In collaboration with the museum staff, restoration plans, and estimates were prepared for each artifact. The team proceeded to clean, desalinate, and preserve the salvaged parts. Lost or severely damaged fragments were fashioned out of fresh stone. Two large statues were partially recarved, and nine cast stone balusters were replicated as part of the Barge's reconstruction. To protect the sculptures atop the Casino building's parapet during future hurricanes, new stainless-steel supports were designed and installed behind them. EverGreene has been providing such expert services to numerous organizations all over the country, "We have the depth of knowledge that enables us to dispatch the right crew with the right expertise as needed, nationwide," remarks Amy.She credits the success of EverGreene to its highly dedicated and proficient team of craftspeople, artists, conservators, and restoration experts.
